ATTORNEY QUALIFICATIONS

  • Health Care Malpractice Experience
    Within five years prior to joining the panel the attorney must have handled to completion at least five health care malpractice cases.
  • Elder and Dependent Adult Abuse Cases
    The attorney must have tried or settled at least three Elder abuse or Dependent Adult Abuse cases. At least one of those cases must have been based on injuries to a nursing home resident who was living at the time the action was filed, and at least one must have been based on injuries to a nursing home resident who was deceased at the time the action was filed.
  • Case Work and Continuing Education
    Before being accepted to the panel, an attorney must have taken depositions of at least ten nursing home employees. All attorneys must have attended at least one litigation training sponsored by CANHR, the American Trial Lawyer’s Association, or some other Minimum Continuing Legal Education provider approved by the CANHR Lawyer Referral Service (LRS).
