WASHINGTON - The Alliance for Quality Nursing Home Care spent $2.73 million in 2007 to lobby the federal government on Medicare and Medicaid funding for nursing facilties.
The coalition, which represents organizations that provide long-term health care, spent $1.75 million to lobby on its own behalf. Its efforts targeted Medicare and Medicaid funding in the second half of the year, according to a disclosure form posted online this month by the Senate's public records office.
Alliance members include Advocat Inc. of Brentwood, Tenn., and Sun Healthcare Group Inc. of Irvine, Calif.
Lobbyists are required to disclose activities that could influence members of the executive and legislative branches under a federal law enacted in 1995.
