San Francisco – Patricia McGinnis, Executive Director of California Advocates for Nursing Home Reform (CANHR), will conduct a workshop on Medi–Cal and Long Term Care at the Santa Clara County Family Support Group on Saturday, March 22, 2008 at the Campbell Community Center, Winchester Blvd. & Campbell Ave., Building C 35, from 10:00 A.M. – 12:00 Noon.
Ms. McGinnis will discuss Medi–Cal eligibility requirements for aged and disabled consumers to obtain Medi–Cal at home; Medi–Cal eligibility and payments for nursing home care; and how to protect your home from Medi–Cal recovery.
Admission is free and open to the public.
The Santa Clara Support Group for friends and relatives of nursing home residents is the longest running support group of its kind in California. In coordination with CANHR, the Group has spearheaded landmark legislation on numerous nursing home reform issues, including residents’ rights and family council protections.
CANHR, a non–profit organization founded in 1983, has been instrumental in orchestrating resident rights protections for long term care consumers and their families throughout California.
